A Parisian Flair

With one of the most important events in the annual fashion calender, Paris Fashion Week is insight week commencing March 1st. And with the City in demand of conversation, we thought here at Casa Ceramica we will exhibit our favourite Parisian interiors to inspire your home.

Besides the capital being renowned for its high-end boutiques, restaurants and lavish lifestyles, Paris is a city full of beautiful architecture. Parisian decor is a mixture of traditional, period features and modern, chic designs, with a lot of spacial capacity.

Here are the key features to achieve a Parisian look:

Keep your Walls White

Paris apartments are typically known to be dark, so keep the walls white to maximize the amount of light into your property. If you would like to add a splash of colour, add coloured furniture or choose a piece of artwork. The Alex Turco range or Ecocement series, both available at Casa Ceramica would be a perfect fit for your walls.

Invest in a Rug

Traditionally, a Parisian property floor is made of wood, which in some cases can be noisy and will damage and fade over time. Adding a feature rug into your home will create warmth and will display a centre piece for the room. However, if porcelain tiles are fitted the colour will stay true, they will stand the test of time and can be matched perfectly with underfloor heating systems.

Mixing the old with the new

Living in a beautiful architectural building with period features is always a bonus to create a Parisian look. However that doesn’t mean you can’t recreate the style by mixing and matching such as old books, modern furniture, vintage mirrors and contemporary artwork. It may sound a bit of a cliché, but hanging a chandelier above the dining table or in the living room is one of the simplest way to introduce the Parisian decor into your property. Ornamenta Frames available here at Casa Ceramica, is a great choice to add some characteristics on to your walls or ceilings if you happen to live in a more contemporary property.

Although it is usually common to find a wooden floor in periodic buildings, a modern day solution for this is to use a porcelain tile as it more beneficial. It can be used for all applications such as bathrooms, kitchen, living space and outdoors. Our ranges such as Emil Ceramica Millelegni and Refin Baita are known for their patterning and flawless surfaces which is why they are the one of the best wood effect tiles on the market. For the marble theme, Casa Dolce Casa Stones and More and Italgraniti White Experience are ideal for a Bathroom and Kitchen, to compliment the minimalistic interior.
