Water-end House, Lake District Private home
‘A unique and practical house in the heart of the Lake District. We worked directly with the client to achieve a traditional, yet contemporary finish, complimenting the style of the house and surroundings.’
Within the living areas of the property, our 1000mm x 1000mm, Beton-Grey tile was used on the ground floor. In addition, our Industry-Oxide was used for the fireplace as a modern worn metal- look.
For the smaller en-suites, a natural stone effect porcelain was used, which we had specially cut into a strip tile. By changing the formatting of the tiles and the prominence of the grout joints, this creates a stylistic, subtle feature on one wall.
Our Mestieri, large-format porcelain slabs, were used in the Master Suite creating space inundated with irregular textures, tones & forms. The movement of the design on the tile gives the impression of a timeworn plaster whilst expressing an element of modern art.
For the external area of the property, the client initially wanted to have, natural Lake District slate. However this proved impractical due to the exclusivity of the stone & size of the project. In light of this we proposed our ‘Kirby’ porcelain tile, which emulates the characteristics of natural stone. We were able to produce all the steps, edges & corners using an anti-slip version of the product, creating a seamless and continuous effect.
