Mutina, Signature Design

The best adventures, or at least the successful ones, are the result of circumstances: the end of a story is the beginning of another. So it was for Mutina, which, in 2006, embarked on a new path. Thirty years of history in the production of ceramics were swept by a wind of change that lead the company to choose a different course focusing on exclusive designs, a tailor-made production that combines technology with hand-crafted details, challenging experimentations that transcend the limits of the materials, and indispensable research for innovation to ensure a high quality product. This new course ties in with a new way of looking at the role of ceramics, which are not considered just floor or wall coverings anymore but have become an integral part of the interior design of a home: a concept shared by the designers working at Mutina and appealing to those who choose Mutina.

Mutina is Interior Design

Ceramic is viewed as a material able to dress up private and public spaces, from contemporary home interiors to hotels with great design. The interior architecture projects created with Mutina’s collections are varied, including fashion showroom, trendy restaurants, and prestigious universities (Bocconi University, Milan). They are featured in great temples of art (Tate Modern in London) and cover a geographic area that stretches from Europe to Asia and across the Atlantic. Ceramic also becomes a design element for limited edition furniture created by the architects and designers who work with the company, like The Bugs Family tables, the modular series with Déchirer texture decor designed by Patricia Urquiola and inspired by the amazing world of insects, or Snow Table and Snow Bench by Tokujin Yoshioka with Phenomenon top. Our collections are always a work in progress, actively involving the designers who sign the ceramic projects, allowing them to leave their mark also with furniture and interior design pieces.
